Dear Trustees,

Anyone acting as a trustee on a commercial basis in Switzerland requires a license from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA). In Art. 19 FINIO (Financial Institutions Ordinance) of 6 November 2019 the following thresholds are defined.

The consistent implementation of the thresholds provided for in the FinIA law announced on 2 February 2024 makes it nearly impossible for trustees based in Switzerland to maintain their trustee activities without a FINMA license. This means that a substantial number of Swiss trustees who benefited from the previous FINMA practice are now required to apply for a FINMA license or find an alternative solution before 31.12.2024.

CAREY Zurich (FINMA licensed since August 2022) has proven in several successful cases, that our Trustee-Platform fulfils all technical, legal and compliance-specific requirements to support trustees who don’t have a license today.

We would be delighted to actively support you in coping with these challenges and to develop the best possible options for you – before the end of 2024.

Just call Beat Haering, CEO, on +41 (0) 43 499 11 44 for more information.

Dear Relationship Manager,

No one knows the needs and requirements of customers better than you, the Relationship Manager. And in this important function, it will be of great concern to you to create a completely individual structure tailored to the customer, which you can build up with an experienced team and maintain over the long term. But in your current function, are you in a position to offer such a broad and customer-oriented service to your customers? If this is not the case, we will be happy to help you.

Your advantages with CAREY as an external service provider:

  • Free choice of legal and administrative structures.
  • Your customers remain “forever” your customers, even if your working environment changes.
  • As an independent service provider, we are only committed to your customers.
  • CAREY is not an asset manager, i.e. you decide where the AuM remain.

If this is the type of opportunity you are seeking, I would be happy to hear from you.
